Designs for a research buildings to be sited in Antarctica are amazing. These giant pods on legs with ski's attached - yes ski's. This grew out of the need for moving buildings as the ice shelf changes in this region. The Science museum has some great information about this project.

I would think that the air flow underneath them would make them harder to heat. It's cool how thier movable though. Do they ski away in a strong wind? Could be a fun ride :)
